Ocultos ilustres - Hidden illustrious

¡Fluye!.

Illustrating is like turning on a light in the dark; It reveals to us that its purpose is to provide clarity and insight to understanding.

Experiencing complete understanding of something that was previously obscure turns out to be a liberating revelation. An enlightened person is one with the ability to turn on that light.

In the 18th century, philosophers and scholars who advocated human reason and scientific progress were called 'enlightened'. In more everyday settings, the term has always been used to recognize educated and cultured individuals.

It is paradoxical to say that someone who sheds light in the darkness remains hidden; However, there have always been 'hidden illustrious'. Humanity has reaped benefits and received important ideas without knowing or acknowledging their authors. Even in the age of massive information and easy access to it, with tools such as artificial intelligence, we continue to discover thousands of 'hidden illustrious', some ephemeral and others truly brilliant.

The fact is that they exist today, and that their ideas often arise and have a global impact without us knowing their names.

The human being has impulses, instincts or, as D. Ramón Campos said in the 18th century, 'flows'. One of the flows that motivates us most strongly is the 'flow of wanting to be recognized', the desire to stand out, be recognized and attract attention. Along the same lines, of the thousands of 'hidden illustrious', it could be said that their 'flow' is simply that of: serving, illuminating and leaving something good in their path.

When we encounter a 'hidden illustrious' and what he offers us, has a profoundly positive impact, instead of fawning over him or mentioning him, the best tribute we can pay him is to let our own 'flow' lead us to share and spread his thoughts.
